Make money with your Silhouette Cameo, Curio, Portrait, or Mint, or Cricut Explore Air or Maker. Hey there and welcome to Cutting for Business! My name is Christine, and one of my favorite hobbies is crafting. Most of my crafting projects revolve around my Silhouette Cameo or Cricut cutting machines. I would love to start a business creating unique and handmade items made using a Silhouette or Cricut, but the truth is, I just don’t have the time because I own and manage a high volume small business. The next best thing to starting my own crafting business is to combine my business knowledge with my crafting passion and share tips with you to help you start (and profit from) your cutting business. I already cover a broad range of topics, but would love your input, too. If you ever have a specific question, I’m happy to help just email me. WHY DID I START THIS BLOG? As a crafting/cutting hobbyist, I joined several online crafting groups to get ideas from other crafters. In my time in these groups, I have seen many groups outlaw business discussion – and well meaning members offering bad business advice. So, what exactly are my qualifications to blog about your cutting business? Well, I might have something in common with you. I am a former stay-at-home mom (my kids are now four, five, six, and twelve) who wanted to bring in some extra money. I was then a work-at-home mom that ran a business during naptimes and bedtimes, and now a former work-at-home mom. In 2011, I went out on a limb and started a tiny business from my garage with little money, but lots of encouragement from family and friends. Today, my small business has moved to a dedicated space, hired employees, my husband quit his job to work in the business full time, and I play a large role in every aspect. My small business produces sales that I would have never imagined on day one. Before I started my own business, I worked as a hospitality manager in a restaurant for over eight years, taught jewelry making classes at Michaels Arts and Crafts Stores, was an Ebay Powerseller, and spent a couple of years working at the most magical place on earth – Disney World.
